About

Matt was born in Fairfax, VA, lived a short amount of time in Colorado, and finally ended up in Dallas, TX, where he spent the majority of his childhood.  As a skateboarder in high school, he would film skate videos with his friends on an old mini dv tape camcorder.  Right after graduating high school, Matt moved to Kansas City, MO where he worked in Broadcast television for a number of years.  He worked as Producer of Night Broadcast (10pm-6am), as well as a Director, Cinematographer, Camera Operator, Master Control Op, and Engineer during his time there.  While working in Kansas City, Matt attended Full Sail University online, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Cinematography, finishing with a GPA of 3.91.

Eventually, Matt moved back to Dallas and began working as a freelance Cinematographer. After living in Dallas several years, he made the move to Los Angeles, CA, where he currently is based. In Los Angeles, he was accepted into and completed the ASC Master Class, being taught by some of the best Cinematographers in the world. He has shot commercials for Kia, Activision, Blizzard, PGA, Major League Soccer, Amazon, Ford, McDonalds, Interstate Battery, Coors Light, and more…. In addition, he has shot several narrative short films, that have made it into various festivals around the country.

When Matt isn’t shooting, he often is doing photography, drinking Cortados (and other coffee), or watching films.
